Richard J. Harpster - Chairman of the Board

Rick is Chairman of the Board at DataBank and a Principal at Svoboda Capital Partners LLC. He joined SC in August 2004. Prior to joining Svoboda, Rick was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch & Company in Chicago.
Rick is also a Director at GPA, North America’s largest independent provider of printable substrates and serves as Director at other Svoboda portfolio companies. Rick received a Masters of Accounting and a BBA from University of Michigan.

Andrew B. Albert – Board Member

Andy is a Managing Director and Operating Partner of Svoboda Capital Partners LLC and has served SC’s Advisory Board since 1998 as a Director and advisor both internally and in various portfolio companies. Andy was formerly CEO of Nashua Corporation, a $300 million publically traded NASDAQ company that coats and prints paper for a wide variety of business applications and was Chairman of Nashua’s Board of Directors until October 2009.

Prior to April 2000, Andy was Chairman and CEO at Rittenhouse, LLC. During his tenure there, Rittenhouse saw unprecedented, substantial growth. Early in his career, Andy also spent seven years as a commercial banker at Irving Trust Company in New York and American National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago.

Andy graduated from Washington University with a BA in 1967, and received his MBA from University of Wisconsin in 1969.

Richard P. Aschman – Board Member

Dick is a Co-founder of DataBank IMX and has served as Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to July 1, 2011. During his tenure as CEO and through his leadership, Dick helped to build one of the premier document management companies in the United States.

He is one of a hand full of executives who have led global businesses in the document management, business services, entertainment imaging and commercial printing industries. He is recognized for his marketing savvy and for building customer-focused organizations driven to produce profitable growth. Prior to DataBank, Dick was CEO of Vutek where he led this manufacturer of grand format inkjet printers and inks to a world leadership position. Prior to joining Vutek he spent his career with Kodak, where he directed some of the company’s fastest growing and most profitable units. Dick also has international experience, living in Tokyo, where he managed Kodak businesses in Asia.

Chuck Bauer – Board Member

Chuck is a Co-founder of DataBank IMX and continues in his role as President and Chief Operating Officer of DataBank. With Chuck’s guidance and direction he has helped establish the organization’s infrastructure, operating methodologies, and technology platforms that DataBank’s clients have come to rely on for superior results.

As an entrepreneur and General Manager, Chuck has extensive experience building imaging companies and document management service organizations. Some of his successes include start-ups, private equity partnering and international experience, plus operating businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe. He is recognized for driving market share, operational excellence and delivering results. Chuck has continued to prove his ability to build and lead teams strengthened by a strong financial background and an intense focus on customers and their specific needs, goals, and satisfaction.

 Fred Zaeske – Board Member

Fred Zaeske is the Chief Executive Officer of DataBank, a premier provider of Imaging and Information Solutions. He works closely with company founders, investors and employees to achieve superior customer results, while elevating DataBank’s industry leadership and expanding its market share.

Prior to DataBank, Fred served in a number of executive roles in the automatic identification and data collection, digital imaging, marketing services and document management industries. Throughout his career, Fred has established a strong track record of helping businesses achieve market leadership positions and significantly improving their financial results.

Fred has served as Vice President and General Manager of North America for the Specialty Printing Solutions Business of Zebra Technologies Corporation, one of the most recognized and respected companies in the automatic identification and data collection industry. Fred was responsible for leading Zebra’s largest geography representing more than 44% of company revenues at over $400M. His organization of 500 associates and five production operations generated industry-leading operating profits and market share in almost all product categories.
Fred also held leadership positions at Wallace Computer Services, where he managed four different business units and achieved double digit growth rates, and at Duplex Products, where he led the introduction of new products and services that transformed the company’s growth potential.

Fred holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, and he is an active participant in the “Executive in Residence” Program. He is a professional member of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) and he is a certified ECM, ERM, BPM and SharePoint Practitioner. He holds the Pennebaker certificate in Direct and Interactive Marketing from the DePaul Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
